Ceredigion-Everest 2010 is a fund raising event for charity, climbing to the Mount Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5335m and following in the footsteps of the great expeditions of the last century.
"Tackling substance misuse is a complex issue because its effects are wide ranging and not always visible for all to see. It is important to understand the harm that is associated with excessive use of alcohol or other drugs, not only from the users' physical and mental standpoint but also the suffering felt by their family, friends and colleagues.
There is no single solution or source of activity that will bring immediate results. Success can only be achieved when agencies, supported by the community, work in partnership to provide long-term, sustainable treatment provision."
